Bonnie Christine Downey Mathis, 62, of 168 Blackstock Road, died Oct. 12, 1997, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was the widow of Willie Mathis, Jr. and daughter of the late Vernon and Alder Downey. She was employed with Kmart for more than 23 years and was a member of Hope Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons; Ricky, Ronnie and Joe Mathis, all of Spartanburg; two sisters, Helen Cannon and Mae Campsen of Spartanburg; and two brothers, Herbert Downey of Atlanta and Junior Downey of CA.
Burial will be in Piedmont Baptist Church Cemetery.
