Former Motor Vehicle deputy registrar for Muskingum County Gerald A. "Jerry" Nutt, 70, of 38 Beechrock Drive, South Zanesville, died at 8:35 pm Monday, Sept 4, at Bethesda Hospital.
Mr. Nutt was serving as the Republican Central Committeeman for Springfield Township and was a member of the Muskingum County Republican Club. The former owner-operator of Carter's Fur Shop, he was the current treasurer and a past president of the Zanesville Optimist Club, a member of the South Zanesville United Methodist Church and ana Army Veteran of World War II.
Mr. Nutt was born Dec 25, 1918, in South Zanesville, the son of Harold J. and Adelia Wheeler Nutt.
His wife, Virginia M. Nutt, died Feb 28, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carmi (Beverly) Shrigley of South Zanesville; Mrs. Pamela Sue Wilson of Zanesville; four sisters, Mrs. James (Esther) Perone of Avondale, Mrs. Thurman (Dorothy) Howard of South Zanesville and Mrs. LeRoy (Betty) Swank and Mrs. Hayden (Catherine) Davis, both of Zanesville; two brothers, Harold Nutt Jr of Avondale and Homer Nutt of Grove City and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at Bolin Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 pm Thursday with the Rev. Ralph W. Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
