He married Miss Clara Smith at Olney, Texas in 1920. The couple lived in and around Olney almost all of his life.
He was a retired farmer and member of the Baptist Church.
Services were held at the Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating.
Survived by his wife; two sons - J.W. and Don Abbott; one daughter - Mrs. Everett Orem; seven grandchildren; three brothers; five sisters.
