OBITUARY FOR NICHOLAS JOSEPH SALANKY
St. Joseph, MO News-Press August 29, 1985

Nicholas J. Salanky, 85, St. Joseph, MO, died Wednesday morning at his home.
Mr. Salanky was a native and lifelong resident of St. Joseph, and had served as a switchman with both the St. Joseph Union Terminal and the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 46 years, retiring in 1965.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Courtwright Salanky on Nov. 6, 1983, and by a brother John T. Salanky Sept 4, 1984.
He was a member of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are three sisters Magdalena P. Salanky, St. Joseph, Marion C. Hummer & Catherine C. Rehm, both of Easton, MO; three brothers, Adam J. Salanky & George V. Salanky, St. Joseph & Felix V. Salanky, San Antonio, Texas & several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
