Annie Mapes, 101, of San Angelo died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, in a local nursing home. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ballinger with the Rev. Hubert Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.

She was born Feb. 21, 1896, in Ballinger and had been a 50-year resident of San Angelo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart.

Survivors include a sister, Willie Wardlaw of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Dora and Walter Pfluger and Marion Lowry, all of San Angelo, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Rowe of Del Rio, Royce and Marcille Mapes of Ballinger, Melton and Pat Mapes and Bill Mapes, all of Snyder and Charles and Pat Mapes of Crane.
