Services: Funeral services for Benjamin Leo Bolton will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Air Base Road Baptist Church with Reverend Jonathan Pyle officiating, assisted by Reverend Joe Sharp and Reverend Ray Wells. Burial will be at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Mora under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
Visitation: Visitation will be at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria Monday, March 29, 2010 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from noon until shortly before time of service at the church.
Mr. Bolton, 71, of Alexandria, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Bolton was a member and deacon of Air Base Road Baptist Church. Leo retired from 
BellSouth after 33 years and was a volunteer fire fighter for 22 years with the Echo Poland Fire Department. His primary mission in life was spreading God’s Word with everyone he met. As an anti-abortion activist, he spoke for the little lives that could not speak for themselves. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved playing his guitar and singing for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Cedars Bolton; parents, Versie and Tishie Edwards Bolton and brother, Roy Bolton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wynelle “Nell” Harrell Bolton of Alexandria; son, Shannon Bolton of Dayton, Texas; daughters, Joni Wells and husband, Brian of Jennings and Julie Ticheli and husband, Samuel of West Monroe; step-sons, Kenny Clinton, Jr. and wife, Connie of Alexandria and Robert Clinton of Pineville; brothers, Francis Bolton and wife, Bobbie of Mora, Ronnie Bolton and wife, Ann of New Llano, James Bolton and wife, Bea of Flatwoods and C. D. Bolton and Ginger Penn of Baytown, Texas; sisters, Joy Allman of Ball, Evelyn Douzart of Hineston and Debbie White and husband, Rupert of New Llano; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be William Brady, Ronald Camp, Millard Doyle, Harold Klooster, Roger Schaeffer and Grady White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Ticheli, Spenser Wells, Jordan Wells, Kyle Clinton, Brandon Clinton, Clyde Bolton, Terry Cedars, Bruce Knight and Andy Rushing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Lake Shore Drive Suite 1510, Lake Charles, LA 70629 or Air Base Road Baptist Church, 2220 Air Base Road, Alexandria, LA 71303.
