John and Sarah Herrell are my oldest known relatives in Tennessee. It is possible that the Revolutionary War soldier buried at McAdoo is either John's father or grandfather, but that is just speculation. Part of the original Herrell farm still remains in the hands of a descendant.
John and Sarah raised 12 children, all of them surviving to adulthood. Many of them were taller than normal, true 'long, tall, Tennesseans'. All of them have now been linked together on Findagrave. - dhintx #47160808
