"Dearing Resident Passed Yesterday"
Thomson, Georgia - January 16 - Mrs. Sarah Clementine Caskey Stokes, age 94, wife of the late H. A. Stokes, died at the residence of her son, H. C. Stokes, of Dearing, at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Funeral services will be announced later.
Mrs. Stokes was a beloved resident of this community, and was respected and admired by her many friends.
She was a native of Lancaster, South Carolina, and a member of the Presbyterian Church of, Central, South Carolina.
After her marriage to the late H. A. Stokes, they moved to Wilkes Co., Georgia, where he was a prominent farmer. They lived there until 1908, when Mr. Stokes retired and they moved to McDuffie County. They have lived since then with their son.
She is survived by two son's, H. C. Stokes of Dearing, and L. L. Stokes of Los Angeles, California, two daughter's, Miss Sarah Stokes of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. T. F. Kelley of Elberton, and three grandchildren, Raymond and Katherine Kelley of Elberton, and Emory Stokes of Los Angeles.
