Creed Hill, 31-year-old Wellington rancher, died at his home Tuesday, March 11, about 9:25 p.m. Mr. Hill was born in Wellington December 11, 1943, the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Hill. This was his lifelong home. After graduating from Wellington High School, he attended the University of Texas and Stephen F. Austin University at Nacogdoches. He returned here to be associated with his father in ranching, the profession in which the Hill family has been prominent since the earliest days of the southeast Panhandle. He was the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Creed Hill who grew up as children of pioneer families in the Arlie community in Childress County, He was also the grandson of the late Judge and Mrs. R.L. Templeton. and the great grandson of the late Judge and Mrs. E.H. Small, who also came here within a few years of the county's founding. Mr. Hill was a licensed pilot and since he was a youth had been a short-wave radio operator.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Hill; one sister, Mrs. Adolf Schmidt of Emden, Germany; and two nephews.
