ELMER E. THOMASON RITES AT VILLISCA
Services were Saturday, June 3, in Villisca for Elmer Ellsworth Thomason, 71, lifelong resident of the Villisca vicinity, who died on his farm near here, Tuesday, May 30. Death was attributed to a heart attach.
Mr. Thomason was born on a farm three miles north of Villisca, November 13, 1878. He had lived near Villisca until about 11 years ago when he moved to a farm northwest of Morton Mills.
He married Lulu Ethel Stewart, February 3, 1903. She died June 10, 1936. Mr. Thomason was a member of Montgomery Lodge A. F. & A. M. and was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
His second marriage was to Mrs. Grace Selser. Surviving are his second wife, a son and a daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Swanson of Fullerton, Nebraska, and Mrs. T. F. Means of Villisca, and a brother, James D. of Villisca. There is one granddaughter.
Burial was in Villisca Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 P.M., at the Sutphen Funeral Home for Elmer E. Thomason who died suddenly Tuesday forenoon of last week at his home northwest of Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa. His death resulted from a heart attack while on his way to one of the fields of his farm.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. M. A. Robeson, and the singing was by Sylvia Enarson and Frances Gray, accompanied by Grace Nordyke. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Earl Means, Mrs. Neal Means, Mrs. Mervin Halbert, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Fredel. The pallbearers were Earl, Neal, and Lee Means, John Baker, Mervin Halbert, and Stewart Melvin, and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
Elmer Ellsworth Thomason was born on November 13, 1878, on a farm three miles north of Villisca, Montgomery County, Iowa, and was 71 years old at his death. With his twin brother, Edwin Stanton Thomason, he was next to the youngest of the family of six children, three girls and three boys.
He was married in February 1903, to Lula Ethel Stewart and to this union were born two children, Mrs. Lee Wyckoff of Omaha, Nebraska, and Donald S. Thomason, of Swisshome, Oregon. Mrs. Thomason died June 10, 1936.
On January 25, 1936, Mr. Thomason was married to Mrs. Grace Selzer. Mr. and Mrs. Thomason had been attendants at Mrs. Selser's first marriage and the two couples had been close friends for years.
Mr. Thomason was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, and had been a member of the Montgomery Lodge, A. F. & A. M. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Edwin Stanton Thomason, and a sister, Mrs. Lee Dunn. He is survived by his wife, his daughter and son, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Swanson of Fullerton, Nebraska, and Mrs. T. F. Means of Villisca, Iowa, a brother, James D. Thomason of Villisca, Iowa, and a granddaughter, Julie Wyckoff.

Elmer Ellsworth Thomason who lived 6 miles north of Villisca, Iowa was born November 13, 1878, and died May 30, 1950 at Pilot Grove Township, 14 miles north of Villisca, Montgomery County. He died of coronary conclusion, arteriosclerosis. He is buried in the Villisca Cemetery, June 3, 1950. Paul R. Sutphens.
