Funeral Monday at Pleasant Gap Church for Mrs. R. C. Davis

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at Pleasant Gap baptist Church for Mrs. Richard Cleve Davis, the Rev. Robert Burgess officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Hefner-Chastain Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Davis, 67,died Sunday at the local hospital following an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Davis was the former Miss Hattie Lowe, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. George Lowe, and was born and reared in the Tails creek Section of the county where her entire life was spent.

She was a member of Dover's Chapel Methodist Church, having united with the church there in 1917.

Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Luther Burgess, of Atlanta, and Mrs. Ernest Burgess, of Cleveland, Tenn.; three sons, Albert Davis, Atlanta, Sgt. Burley Davis and Pfc. Alvin Davis, both of Fort Benning, GA. Other survivors include one brother, four sisters, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
