"We understand a serious difficulty occurred on Wednesday night between J. A. Whitten, Esq., of Lamar, and Mr. Wash Traylor in which both were seriously hurt, Mr. Whitten being badly bruised and Mr. Traylor severely cut across the head and neck.
The difficulty occurred at the house of Mr. "Bud" Johnson, who lives on Mr. Traylor's place and where a social party was being held. The difficulty, it is said, grew out of a previous misunderstanding."
***The Randolph Toiler (Wedowee, Alabama) 4 Feb 1898, Fri ***

According to the bio on Migeman Buckley Traylor's FAG memorial #49747839, sons William and Washington are supposed to be TWINS! Interesting how their birthdate on both is July 23rd, but one is 1820 and the other 1822 according to their headstones.
