Hanna Kies Dumler, age 105, of Shenandoah, Iowa formerly of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 at her residence in Shenandoah. Hanna Kies Dumler was born October 2, 1904 at the family home south of Wall Lake, Iowa the daughter of Frederick Carl and Hiska (Flink) Kies. She was raised near Wall Lake, Iowa and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the Presbyterian Church in Breda, Iowa. She taught piano lessons, worked for a bakery, and worked in a dentist and doctor's office in the Wall Lake and Lakeview area. Hanna moved to Red Oak, Iowa in 1946. She was united in marriage to Jacob Dumler on March 28, 1947 in Hiawatha, Kansas. They made their home in Red Oak where Hanna worked for Murphy Calendar Company and Good Samaritan Care Center in the kitchen. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Red Oak. In 1993, she moved to Shenandoah, Iowa to be closer to her son, Larry and family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Jacob Dumler in 1980; 4 sisters; and one brother. Those left to cherish her memory are her son: Larry Dumler and wife Vera of Imogene, Iowa; grandchildren: Derek Dumler; Dustin Dumler and wife Sherri; A.J. Dumler; and Ashley Dumler and Tommy Berrier all of Shenandoah, Iowa; great grandchildren: Alyssa Demanett, Quentin Dumler, Madison Dickerson-Dumler, Mallory Dickerson-Dumler, Alley Dumler, Abbegail Dumler, Kylee Connell, Karlee Connell, Gage Dumler, and Nickolas Berrier; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Kirsch Funeral Chapel in Shenandoah with Rev. Rick Sleyster officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Assisting the family with arrangements are the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak and the Kirsch Funeral Chapel of Shenandoah, Iowa.
