Hazel was united in marriage with Carl J. Tveidt on March 17, 1923 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home at Booge, SD where they operated a General Store. They moved to Oregon in 1948. A short time later they moved to Garretson, SD. Hazel also worked as a beautician from 1940 to 1963. Carl preceded her in death on September 9, 1959.
Hazel was united in marriage with Olai Ronning on June 11, 1963 in Garretson, SD. The couple made their home in Dell Rapids, SD. Olai preceded her in death on November 22, 1979. Hazel later moved to Sioux Falls.
Hazel was a charter member of Garretson American Legion Auxiliary Unit #0023 for 73 years. She was also active in various churches and other organizations through the years.
Grateful for having shared her life are two sons, Carroll Tveidt and his wife, Ferne, Hood River, OR, Jerome Tveidt and his wife, Adeline, Sioux Falls, SD; one daughter, Judy Lakin, Corvallis, OR; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one step-son, Lowell Ronning and his wife, Florence, Dell Rapids, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husbands, Hazel was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Tveidt; her parents; five brothers, Otho, Elmer, Aaron, Lawrence, Harold; and six sisters, Edna Nerison, Josephine Wroe, Zona Bolton, Ella Grimm, Mildred Smith and Viola Diggs.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at Dow Rummel Village following the memorial service.
