June was decended from several generations of western Parker County settlers. Her parents moved from there to Amarillo before she was born. Waynoka, OK (where she was born) is north of Amarillo in the OK panhandle. Her father was a railroad investigator and was killed at work when she was one month old. Her and Leon met and married in Amarillo.
They had also lived in Milsap,TX, Springdale,AR, Weatherford,TX, and finally in Azle,TX for 40 years. June was preceded in death by three older brothers. They are all shown in the photo with June on the stool.
