Athens, AL - John Hawkins Black, 70, Athens, died Thursday at a local hospital.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Arvid McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Black was a retired carpenter and a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Black; a daughter, Shirley Abernathy; two brothers, Thomas W. Black and Marvin Black, both of Athens; three sisters, Pauline Beasley, Georgia Lou Craig and Mauvice Wilson, all of Athens; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
