She was born to parents Bige and Dicy Muncy of Southport on January 19, 1929.
She is survived by her son, Donald Rickey and wife Nancy and grandson David Rickey of Manassas, Va., and a granddaughter, Julia Rickey of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Ann M. Price of Southport; and three brothers, Edgar Muncy and wife Karen and Calvin Merle Muncy, all of Southport, Robert (Bobby) Muncy and wife Laraine of Circleville, Ohio.
After retiring from civil service with the U.S. government, she pursued her lifelong hobby of collecting minerals. She belonged to a mineral club in Colorado Springs and traveled all over the world collecting rocks and minerals. Her rock collecting and camping equipment were not the choices of a neutrally passive person. She loved the Lord and His creation. She studied not only the exterior of her rare and collectible stones, but also the miraculous crystals and minerals sometimes so small that their beauty was only revealed under a microscope.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bige and Dicy Muncy; her husband, Donald Rickey; and a brother, William Muncy.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial in Arlington National Cemetery with her husband.
Donations can be made to a church building fund or mission organization of one?s choice.
