Mr. Muncy was born October 27, 1933 in Hyden, Kentucky to the late Bige and Dicey Woods Muncy. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Muncy had worked as a building contractor, was an outdoor enthusiast and an avid poker player. He enjoyed being with his family especially his grandchildren. Mr. Muncy's had attended Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Muncy was preceded in death by his wife Hilda Mae Sellers Muncy; three sons, Calvin Muncy, Jr., Marlan Bige Muncy, and Martin Ellis Muncy; brothers Edgar Muncy and Billy Muncy, and sisters Ann Muncy Price and Evelyn Muncy Rickey.
Survivors include his son Mike Muncy and wife Amanda; a brother Bobby Muncy; six grandchildren, Madison Shae Hill, Timothy Scott Hill, Kristen Muncy, Calvin Allen Muncy, Michael Logan Barbee, and Chad Ellis Muncy; a his special friend Holly Lysaght.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Saggus officiating. Burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery.
