A native of Amite, she died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2003, at her residence near Amite. She was 66. Visitation at Shiloh Church of Christ, Amite, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Brother Kenneth Istre. Interment in Shiloh Cemetery, Amite. Survived by her husband, Alvin L. Stell, Amite; two daughters, Rose Hayden and Helen Diepenbrock, both of Amite; a son, Walter Stell, Amite; a brother, David Lanier, Amite; seven grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Rose Lanier; a sister, Joan Addison; and two brothers, Wade Lanier and Mark Lanier. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
