He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey Carrier Lanier; 7 children, Dona Matherne and husband, Steve, Mona Zimmerman and husband, Bob, Libby Rick and husband, Danny, Andrew Lanier and wife, Cecilia, Duane Lanier and wife, Angela, Jody Lanier and wife, Marcine and Eric Lanier and wife, Toni Jean; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Rosie White Lanier; brothers and sisters, Wade Lanier, Markie Lanier, Joan Addison and Nancy Stell.
