Fred H Scott Dies in Hospital
Fred Howard Scott, 57, of 2323 North Nineteenth street died at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St Elizabeth hospital, where he was admitted Sunday. He had been ill six years. For the past 16 years, Mr Scott and his wife had owned and operated the Scott nursing home for men on North Eighth street and the Scott nursing home for woman on North Ninth street.
Born at Scottsburg Ind., Mr Scott had lived in Lafayette and vicinity for 35 years, formerly living in Attica. He formerly was a hostler for the Monon railroad for nine years. A member of the Assembly of God church, he served overseas in World War 1. He was a member of American Legion Post 11, American Nursing Home association, National Nursing home association and Indiana State Nursing Home assoication. He married Goldie P Cook at Champain, Ill.
Surviving with the widow are three sons, Milton, Vincent and Donald Scott, all of Lafayette; six daughters, Mrs Clint Schultz of Colburn, Mrs Charles Brewster of West Point, Mrs Ralph Kirts of Buck Creek, and Mrs Ralph Nicholson, Mrs Howard Davis and Mrs Chester Whitlock, all of Lafayette, two stepsons, Clarence and William Cook both of Lafayette and Marion, both of Attica, and William of Kokomo, and three sisters, Mrs Freda Dodge and Mrs Harold Barcus, both of Champain Ill., and MRs Larry Thompson of Urbana Ill.
