Vincent B. Scott
A former Lafayette resident, Vincent B Scott, 45, of Standard, Ill., died at 2:40 a.m. Monday in Peoples Hospital, Peru, Ill. He had been ill two weeks and hospitalized since Oct 3.

Mr Scott, co-owner of Cabin-Scotty Tavern in Standard, was born and reared in Lafayette. He attended Schuyler Avenue Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Eagles Lodge and VFW. He was a veteran of World War II, having served overseas. He moved to the Peru area in 1956.

Surviving are one brother, Milton E Scott of Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs Jack Schaible, Mrs Ralph Nicholsen and Mrs Ralph Kirts, all of Lafayette, and Mrs Charles Brewster of West Point; a half sister, Mrs Chester Whitlock and a half brother, Donald Scott, both of Lafayette, and an aunt, Mrs Opal M Parson of Lafayette in whose home he was raised.

Standard - Vincent B. Scott, 45, operator of Cab and Scotty's tap in Standard, died early Monday in People's hospital, where he had been a patient 10 days.

Services will be in the Hippensteel Funeral home in Lafayette, Ind., Thursday.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight in the Dysart chapel in Granville. Visitation will be in Lafayette Wednesday.

He was born Sep 10, 1924, in Lafayette, the son of Fred and May Campbell Scott.

Mr Scott was a veteran of World War II and a member of both the VFW and Eagles Lodge in Lafayette. He was also a member of the Weslesan United Methodist church in Lafayette.

Survivors are his foster mother, Mrs Opal M Parsons; a brother Milton; four sisters, Mrs Ralph (Jean) Kirts, Mrs Jack (Betty) Schaible, and Mrs Ralph (Barbara) Nicholsen, all of Lafayette, and Mrs Charles (Lorena) Brewster of West Point, Ind.; a step-brother, Donald Scott, and step-sister Mrs Chester (Connie) Whitlock, both of Lafayette.

He was proceded in death by his parents.
