Daughter of Pigeon England and Lena Maggie Guinn.

Her first husband was Dave Dennison who would kill himself during the marriage by shooting himself in the head in their barn. Dorothy reportedly ran to the barn upon hearing the shot, found Dave dead, picked up the gun and ran down the road for help. Two of her sisters believe Dave did not shoot himself but that Dorothy shot him.

Dorothy secondly married Vernie Goss in 1965, the husband of her older sister Goldie. This caused the sisters to hate each other the rest of their years. During his marriage to Dorothy, Vernie's son from his marriage to Goldie England, Sam Goss, was killed in an industrial accident.
