Mildred Pearle Shaffer, 80, of Kittanning RD 3, died at 6:50 a.m., Feb. 22, 1982 at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Born June 25, 1901 in Manorville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillie (Frick) Toy. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. Her husband, the late Nulen Shaffer, died in September of 14967. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Richey of Kittanning RD 3 and Mrs. Mary Ann Crow, also of Kittanning RD 3; one brother, Robert J. Toy of Kittanning RD 7; one step-brother, Gilbert Ackard of Casselberry, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Heffelfinger, who died in May of 1968, two brothers and one sister. SHAFFER – Friends of Mildred Pearl Shaffer, 80, of Kittanning RD 3, who died Feb. 22, 1982, will be received from 1 p.m. until services at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1982 at the Snyder Funeral Home in Cowansville, with the Rev. James Ramey, pastor of the Salem Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Missionary Society of the Salem Baptist Church. Arrangements by Snyder of Cowansville.
