L. P. Garrison is the second and youngest son of Dr. Lovick Pierce Garrison and his second wife, Mary Jane Blackmon. Mary Jane apparently died soon after L. P. was born, as his father married his third wife, Sallie Moore, in October of the same year.
L. P. Garrison married Mary Adeline "Mollie" Isbell in 1883. An arithritis victim, L. P. operated a wholesale grocery business in Vinita from a wheelchair for over 14 years with the help of his daughter Nannie, and was reportedly "always cheery and optimistic."
