WENONA — Alice K. "Sal" Marks, 85, of 403 W. Third St., Wenona, died at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator after a short stay.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church in Wenona with the Rev. Luke Poczworowski, OFM, Conv., officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wenona. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church. Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Marks was born in Rutland on Dec. 30, 1924, to Joseph and Kathryn (Patten) Schmillen. She married John Marks.

Mrs. Marks retired as a long time employee of Wenona State Bank and the Wenona School System. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, its Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She loved to read and was a member of the Literary Club.

Mrs. Marks is survived by four sisters, Grace Bogdonovich of New Mexico, Marion Norwood of Bloomington, Mildred Orth of Eureka and Ruth Lauf of Wenona, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, two brothers and one sister.
