Gladys M. Miller, 81, of 889 Fairground Road, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

She was born July 25, 1928, in Aaronsburg, Centre County, a daughter of the late Franklin and Stella (Wance) Weaver. On July 25, 1948, she married Norman R. Miller. Together they observed 47 years until his death on Jan. 30, 1996.
Gladys was an Avon representative and a salesperson for Dutch Made Clothing. More recently she worked as a greeter for Wal-Mart, retiring in 2006.

A member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, she previously helped serve banquets at the church. Years ago she taught children's Sunday school at Emmanuel United Church of Christ in New Berlin. As a substitute teacher, she instructed learning challenged students in the Bloomsburg area.

Surviving are one son, Gary Miller of Selinsgrove Center, and two brothers, Earl and Rhelda Weaver and Dale and Sean Weaver, both of Aaronsburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy L. Miller, who died May 28, 1974; three brothers, Donald Weaver, William Weaver and Floyd Weaver, and one sister, Betty Weaver.

Friends will be received from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road (Route 192), Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. officiated by her pastor, the Rev. Paula M. Gustafson.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
