Surrounded by his loving family, Earl Wance Weaver, 78 of Aaronsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born at home in Aaronsburg on September 17, 1932, Earl was a son of the late Frank P. and Stella Wance Weaver. On August 26, 1950, Earl married Rhelda Jane Libby. Mrs. Weaver survives at their home in Aaronsburg. Earl is also survived by sons; Wayne (Valerie), Greg (Gay) and Kent (Amanda); grandsons, Kirk (Mary), Eric (Amy) and Jesse (Adrian); step granddaughter Ashley; great grandchildren, Teagan, Preston and Rileigh and one brother, Dale of Aaronsburg. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by siblings, Betty, Donald, William, Gladys and Floyd. Earl was employed by Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven as a lead man, retiring in 1984 with 34 years of service. He was also a well known auctioneer in the area for 43 years. For many of those years he was the auctioneer at the Stahl's Auction Barn in Mifflinburg. He also conducted over 3000 public auctions. Earl was a fun auctioneer, joking and getting his audience involved in the sale. Earl was active in the Aaronsburg Civic Club, serving as the President and Vice President. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Spring Mills. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp. Earl was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His passing leaves a void in our hearts and lives and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 am with Pastor Kenneth Codner officiating. In accordance with family wishes, Earl will be buried at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Earl may be given to the American Cancer Society, Centre Unit, 123 S. Sparks Street, State College, Pa. 16801-3915.
