Eva & George moved to Orange, Texas at the start of World War II. They then moved to Port Neches in 1952, where Eva resided until August 2003. She was currently living with each of her children for various periods of time so we could all enjoy her company. Eva was a dedicated and talented quilt maker, and continued to work of her quilts until her death. One of her quilts won first place for hand quilting at the Southeast Texas State Fair a couple of years ago, of which she was very pleased and proud.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Buchanan; son, Donald Buchanan; daughter, Serena Stakes, and grandson, Wesley Stakes.
She is survived by her son, Robert W. Buchanan and wife Jackie of Kingwood; two daughters, Virginia Youngblood and husband Ralph of Nederland, and Donna Sterling and husband Billy of Kingwood; nine grandchildren, Linda Kilpatrick of Nederland, Charles Webb of Austin, Suzanne Greenville of Nacogdoches, Gina McQueen of Spring, Karen Youngblood of Spring, Beth Buchanan of Dallas, Amy Owens of Dripping Springs, Jill Atwood of Humble, and Grant Sterling of Kingwood; also nine great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
