She died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 21, 1923, to the late Alfred H. and Irene Bauer Bube in Harrison County.
She was a retired clerk at the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville and past president of the Southern Indiana Poet and Writers Society. She was a Lifetime Associate of the First Armored Division, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Clark Memorial Hospital Association.
She was a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and St. Anthony Seniors.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Marr, of Clarksville, Gary Napper and his wife, Rene, of Austin, Texas, Linda Schoene and her husband, Joseph, of Louisville, Mary Meeks, of Clarksville, and John Napper Jr. of Clarksville; brother, Raymond Bube and his wife, Beatrice, of Louisville; sisters, Hilda Loftus and her husband, Anthony, Helen Bube, and Mary Venne and her husband, Theodore, all of New Albany; grandchildren, Kelly Marr, Sgt. John Meeks, U.S.M.C., Brian Meeks, Bonnie Waters, William Chris Napper and Edie Napper; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Robin, Eric, Daniel, Morgan, Haley and E.J.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Napper Sr., and a grandson, Deron Marr, U.S.N.
Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, from 2 to 8 p.m., including a rosary service, Monday.The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School.
