Mr. and Mrs. August "Buddy" Bernhardt received word that his mother, Mrs. Martha Bernhardt, had died of a heart attack suddenly while visiting a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seipert at Vernon. Their sons, Herbert Bernhardt of Texas A&M and Allen Bernhardt in the US Army stationed at Fort Hood, both were called and came in for their grandmother's service at St. Luke Lutheran Church.
