COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Ann Vinson Jones, 71, will be held Sunday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Curry's Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 30, from 12-9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Mrs. Joes died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 2, 1939, in Orlando, Fla., to the late Garrett and Hatha Burgess Vinson. MeMc, as she was called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored, owned and operated Odie's Drive-In Restaurant for many years. Her family includes two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy and Troy Spellings and Carrie Martin and fiance Paul Hunter, all of Jackson County; a sister, Helen Bellar of Gainesboro; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl Vinson of Guntersville, Ala., and Bobby and Betty Jean Vinson of Santa Claus, Ind.; six grandchildren, Shannon and Shane Abbott, Shawn Moores and wife Bonnie, Travis Crouch, Jesse Horn and Misty Abbott Still and husband Wesley; 12 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lilly Abbott, and Alexus, Haliea, Trenton and Dallas Crouch, Abbie Jeanna and Steven Moores, Allan Thorton, Ashley and Desiree Still; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her life-long companion, Jim Jones; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Katherine Vinson, Milse and Charlie Butler; and three brothers, Garrett Jr., Harold (Brains) and Charles Vinson. Pallbearers will be Brent Mathis, Danny and Chris Tucker, Jesse and James Butler, Steve Vinson and Matt Wilson. Bro. Harold Maynard will officiate the services.
