At the age of 11 years she moved with her family to a farm near De Smet where she grew to young womanhood.
She was united in marriage on October 30, 1887 to James Trousdale and to this union eight children were born all of whom survive. They are Mamie (Mrs. Ward Pease, Redwood Falls, Minnesota), Lulu (Mrs. Wesley Lawman, De Smet), Jennie, (Mrs. Henry Kohlwey, Lake Preston), Walter of Madison, Lila (Mrs. Harvey Schultz, Huron), Nona (Mrs. Ray Harris, Iowa Falls, Iowa), Noble of Huron and Mildred (Mrs. Clarence Lee, Lake Preston), 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 14, 1948 and also by two grandchildren.
"Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 27th at the Methodist Church for Mrs. Georgia Trousdale who died last Saturday, September 24 at the Maxwell Rest Home in Arlington, South Dakota at the age of 79 years. Rev. E.H. Jarmen officiated.
Mrs. Trousdale had been rather infirm since a stroke she suffered some time ago.
Mrs. John Bonde and Oliver Gerald sang "Face to Face", "In The Garden" and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus" accompanied by Mrs. Oliver Gerald.
Pall bearers were five nephews, Harry, Ray, Clark and Jodey Hodges. Chester Blakewell of Erwin and Carl Christianson of Lake Preston. Out of town relatives who came to the funeral were Mrs. Ray Harris, Iowa Falls, Iowa; Lila Schultz; Mr. and Mrs. Noble Trousdale and Beverly all of Huron; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trousdale and Wayne of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Lawman of De Smet; Mrs. Alfred Ryland also of De Smet; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lowe of Madison; Frances Donaldson of Aberdeen; Mr. and Mrs. John Gilbertson of Bryant and Mr. and Mrs. George Myers of Huron."
