SHIRLEY MAVIS (BRANSON) STROSCHEIN, daughter of Buil and Harriet (Clark) Branson, was born June 30, 1936, at Madison, South Dakota. She attended school at Franklin, South Dakota and graduated from Franklin High School in 1954. Following her education she did housework in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was united in marriage to Clarence "Shortly" Stroschein on February 15, 1958, in Estelline, South Dakota. Following their marriage they farmed in Deuel County in the Brandt-Clear Lake, South Dakota area. She died on Wednesday, October 22, 1997, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 61 years, 3 months, and 22 days.

Shirley was a member of the United Church Of Christ and was active in the Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and country music.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Clarence : Shorty" of rural Clear Lake; one son, Kevin Stroschein of Sioux Falls; one daughter, Kathy Anderson and her husband Dick of Garretson, South Dakota; one granddaughter, Chrissy Stroschein of Garretson; her parents, Buil and Harriet Branson of Sioux Falls; two brothers, Charles Bronson and his wife Dorothy and Danny Branson, all of Sioux Falls; one sister, Lori "Lorraine" Buskohl of Sioux Falls, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Ray.
