Woodrow Wilson Burns went by the nickname W.W. He was born in New Boston, Bowie County, Texas. On 23 Sep 1936, Woodrow married Eunice in Bowie County, Texas. W.W. and Eunice had two sons: Woodrow Leonard and Marvin Wilson.

In 1956 W. W. and his family moved from New Boston, Texas to Shafter, California. In California, W. W. worked for K Malofy & Son until his retirement. W. W. and Eunice moved to Bakersfield, California in March of 1997. W. W. died in Bakersfield.

The California obit notes that as a young man, W. W. enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is also noted as an avid gardener with gardens usually resembling small farms. He was a bit of a designer too. The obit notes that W. W. often modified tools to make them more useful.

W. W. is described as having an engaging sense of humor and an impeccable work ethic. The California obit says W. W. truly was a man of integrity who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services for W. W. in Texas were at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with Norman Hooten officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. The family gathered at the Homer Burns residence, 1594 Highway 98, New Boston.
