Mary Ellen Bostian, 87, of Simms, Texas, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at her residence. She was born March 30, 1927, in New Boston, Texas to John Dow and Floy Bell Kemp Burns.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Simms, Texas for 47 years.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Daley.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Bostian of Simms, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Shirley Hawkins of New Boston, Texas and Steve and Pat Hawkins of Simms, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Doris Daley of Simms, Texas, Brenda and Ronnie Hammonds of Nederland, Texas and Alice Foster and Glen Hazelwood of De Kalb, Texas. Two sisters, Rosie Shirley of Texarkana, Texas, Dorothy Smith of Malta, Texas, three brothers, Henry Burns and Homer Burns of New Boston, Texas and Dow Burns of Redwater, Texas, thirteen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 7, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church, Simms, Texas with Revs. Aaron Crawford and Ronnie Hammonds officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery
