Pauine Marie was the the daughter of Oscar Gottschall and his wife, Rosa Hellerung Gottschall. Pauline was born in Plymouth, Gage County, Nebraska September 17, 1888. She married Troy Van Winkle on December 25, 1907 at Elk Creek, Johnson County, NE.
They had the following four children:
Mabel May V. W. - Nov 4, 1908
Lorraine Troy V. W. - Jan 27, 1917
George Everett V. W. - Sep 24, 1921
Dorothy Pauline V. W. - Jul 26, 1923
Pauline passed away at their home in Silver Creek, Merrick County, Nebraska on September 14, 1973 and Troy passed away in Osceola, Polk County on April 13, 1977.
