Jeanne Arbuckle was born in Carmunnock, Lanarkshire, Scotland and immigrated to Ontario, Canada with her family in 1853, arriving in New York City on August 26th. Among the party were her parents, Robert and Jane McNiven Arbuckle and her grandparents, William and Janet Dyer Arbuckle. Her siblings, William, Janet and Mary were also on the journey, as were her aunts, Jean Arbuckle who would marry Alexander Edgar and Margaret Arbuckle Kerr with her husband, Robert Kerr and their children.
She married William Alexander Walker in Ontario in 1865 where their first child, George Alexander was born. They immigrated to the United States, first living in Missouri and then Iowa before homesteading in 1880 in Bluffton Township, Otter Tail Co., Minnesota. In the early 1900s they moved to Bemidji. Jeanne was beloved by her husband and children.
