Jane married Christian Christoph Johann Duderstadt, also known as John, on June 16, 1869 in Nixon, Gonzales County Texas. John and Jane had 15 children. The day Jane was buried, there was a very heavy rain and several vehicles got stuck at the cemetery.

Jane's parent are George Washington Davis and Amanda Jones Davis. George Davis was the son of Zachariah Davis and Rosanna Chenault Davis, who came to Texas as the original members of the DeWitt Colony in 1831 and were married in Tennessee in 1823. George Davis was born in 1826 and fought with the Confederate army in the war between the states from the beginning to the end of the war except for a few months of sick leave granted him after he had been vaccinated with poison vaccine. George Washington Davis died on Dec 21, 1907 in Mound Creek Texas. Amanda Jones Davis was the daughter of William Patrick Jones and Zilphia Jane Dalton Jones who came to Texas in the early 1840's.
