Mr. Duderstadt Dead

The Inquirer regrets to chronicle the death of Mr. John Duderstadt, which occurred at his home near Nopal after a lingering illness. Decedent was a prominent stockman and farmer of the section, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.

The Inquirer extends sympathy to the sorrowing family and friends.

Smiley, Tex., May 24,-John Duderstadt of nearthis place died this morning. He came here 50 years ago with his parents, who were German, and settled in this county in the early 60,s. He was 62 years old. He was a large land and ranch owner and one of the leading spirits in all business enterprises in this community. He is survived by his wife and a large family of children. He will be buried in the Billings cemetery near Nopal Wednesday. Rev. I. T. Morris of Beeville will hold services at the home at 9 o'clock a.m. He was a member of the Nopal camp, Woodmen of the World, and also a member of Lone Star lodge No. 450, A. F. and A. M., of this place, which lodge will conduct the funeral.
