Funeral services for John Alfred Berry, 90, of 302 N. 12th St., Memphis, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 30, in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. C.H. Murphy, pastor, officiated.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home with graveside rites being conducted by the Lakeview Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Berry passed away Friday evening in the Hall County Hospital.
John A. Berry was born Feb. 1, 1881, in Navarro County, and had resided here for the past 53 years.
He maintained farming interests in the Eli community and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three nephews, Robert Stewart of Memphis, Gene Stewart of Childress and John Perkins, Jr. of Dallas; six nieces, Mrs. Dayne Weatherford of Panhandle, Mrs. G.M. Steele of Arlington, Mrs. Florence Lockwood of Fort Worth, Mrs. Wayne Brown of El Paso, Mrs. Pat Garlington of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Willie Garlington of Fort Worth.
Pall bearers were Jess Watson, Aubrey Robertson, Johnny Hancock, Lee M. Robertson, Irvin Johnsey and James B. Skinner.
