Harriet Drake
Dies Thursday
Harriet Drake, 86, of Scott city died Thursday, Aug. 10, 1995 at the Scott County hospital. She was a lifetime resident of the community.
Born Feb. 20, 1909 in Scott county, the daughter of Joel Tullis and Mertie Jane (Bush) Scott, she was married to Glen W. Drake on Sept. 24, 1930 at Friend. He died Feb. 6, 1935 at Scott City.
Mrs. Drake formerly was a clerk at Paul's AG Food Market, and also worked at the local theater for many years. She was a member of the Firsts Christian church.
Survivors include a son, David of Fallbrook, Calif.; sisters, Mary Crowl of Woodward, Okla., and Nellie Sharpe, Scott City; two daughters-in-law; eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Duane.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenneth Owen and Rev. Michael Drake officiating.Interment was in the Prairie View cemetery at Friend.
