He was born April 05, 1901 in Georgetown to Joseph and Elizabeth Smit Hayes. He was the second son in a family of 11 children.
He married Azella Mae Thronock, Nov. 04, 1920 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church and a high priest at the time of his death. He was active in many Church calling until ill health restricted his activities.
He was a farmer in Georgetown where he enjoyed spending time with friends and relatives.
He is survived by his wife of Georgetown; one daughter, Mrs. Emford (Nona) Dayton, Cokeville, Wyoming, two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one half brother, Boyd Dimick, California. He was proceeded in death by one daughter, Denina, five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 01, 1990 in the Georgetown LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Georgetown Cemetery.
