Nona began her childhood in Georgetown, Idaho until she was 5 years old, and then her family moved to Cokeville, Wyo. She was able to attend school until the fourth grade and then her family moved back to Georgetown, Idaho. In spring of 1937 her family returned to Cokeville and enjoyed the life of ranching, cooking for men, and taking care of their family.
Nona was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was on an earthly mission of service through her entire life. She loved to sew, cook, wallpaper, paint, and help others in anyway. She was awarded The Cokeville Service Award in 2005 for her exceptional service to the community. She worked for All West Communications for over 25 years. She finally had to retire at 88 years of age, even though she loved working!!
She served in various callings in the LDS church throughout her life. She also served for 20+ years as the Cokeville 1st ward historian. She loved this calling and spent hours devoted to documenting the ward history. Her motto: laugh often, work hard, give freely, pay promptly, pray earnestly, be kind, love, and be believing.
