William Albert Tanner, 92, Myton, died June 9 of causes incident to age, at the Cedar Crest Convalescent Center, Roosevelt, where he had resided for the past five and one half years.
Born March 29, 1897, to George Alpert Tanner and Emma Viola Spencer Tanner, in Payson, he spent his early childhood years in Arizona, but returned to Utah with his parents about 1914 at the age of 17. He served in World War I and worked seven years in Salt Lake at Ft. Douglas. He was a member of the American Legion Post #5, Myton, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Late in life he married Rosalie Ingalsbe of Myton, December 39, 1949. They operated a small grocery store in Myton for several years. She preceded him in death Sept. 30, 1972. He had no children of his own.
Survivors include brothers and sisters, Floyd Earl Tanner, Siguard; Cassidy Beatrice Reid, Salt Lake; Francis Marion (Frank) Tanner, Myton; Emery Alvin (Bud) Tanner, Roosevelt; Emma Alice Mitchell, Spokane, Wash.; and Hazel Mae Olsen, Helper. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, David Hyrum and Gerald Bird Tanner; sisters, Nellie Tanner Adams, Sarah Thelma Tanner, and Leatha Susan Tanner.
Burial was in the Myton City Cemetery.
