Adelaide Pelley Pearson was the daughter of well-known author, screenwriter, and Soulcraft and Silver Shirts founder William Dudley Pelley.

Her and husband Melford Pearson were authors, publishers and social activists. They wrote a book together, "The Reluctant Heretic," and were co-editors of a monthly magazine called The Eagle Eye. They outlined the proposals for a National Cooperative Commonwealth. It provided a way to build a society that was free of debt, free of violence, free of foreclosures, free of poverty and free of joblessness. They underscored that any society wherein tens of millions endured unmet basic human needs, when at the same time it had the capability to meet those needs, was uncivilized. (Her birth name was Adelaide M Pelley).
