Not sure why his grave marker says Jr, when he is actually the Sr. His father's name is James Andrew.

Derived Captain title from being a steamboat captain on the Mississippi; editor & proprietor of the newspaper La Porte Whig. Beginning in 1869, he was a banker for the J P Andrew Jr & son Bank. In addition, A. P. went to CA to mine gold.- La Porte Historical Society
