RETIRED FARMER, DISTILLERY WORKER, DAVID BOONE DIES - David Boone, age 74, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, at his residence on Route 1, New Haven, after being in ill health for several years. A native of Nelson County, he was a farmer and a former employee of the old J. W. Dant Distillery at Gethsemane. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Essie Mae Leake; three daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Guyula) Johnson, New Haven; Mrs. Glenn (Anna) Burd, Route 1, New Haven, and Mrs. Phil (Lenore) Rogers of Louisville; seven sons, Charlie, Joe, Lambert, Nolen, Fred and Pat Boone, all of Route 1, New Haven, and Johnny Boone of Bardstown; 23 grandchildren. Also six sisters, Mrs. Delime (Alberta) Boone, Howardstown; Mrs. Kathleen Hagan, Route 1, New Haven; Miss Elizabeth Boone and Mrs. Jessie Cissell, both of New Haven; Mrs. Louise Sweat, Lebanon Junction, and Mrs. Stella Hall of Louisville, and a brother, Felix Boone of Route 1, New Haven. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with a con-celebrated Mass at St. Vincent dePaul Church, New Hope. The Rev. C. E. Reteneller was chief celebrant and con-celebrants were Father Joseph and Father Anastasia, of the Abby of Gethsemane. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Boone, J. C. Boone, J. B. Boone, Mike Boone, Robert and T. J. Sweat, Donnie Cecil and Paul Hagan. A prayer service was conducted Monday evening at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven.
