RITES HELD FOR MRS. SWEAT - A Nelson County native, Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Sweat of Lebanon Junction, died Sunday, May 6, at Federal Hill Manor Nursing Home in Bardstown. She was 87. The former Rose Louise Boone, she was a retired homemaker and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Lebanon Junction. She is survived by her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Baker, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Esther Parker, Shepherdsville; Mrs. Fronia Huffman, Sonara, Ky.; Mrs. Laverne Dawson and Mrs. Francis Pachini, both of Louisville; and four sons, T. J. Sweat, Elizabethtown, and James V., Joseph and Rudolph Sweat, all of Lebanon Junction. She is also survived by a brother, Felix Boone of New Haven, and four sisters, Alberta Boone, Howardstown; Elizabeth Boone, Jessie Cecil and Kathleen Hagan, all of New Haven. Mrs. Sweat is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at St. Benedict Catholic Church with burial in the St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery at New Hope. Kappel Funeral Home, Lebanon Junction, was in charge of arrangements.
