BIOGRAPHY: 16. William Brady Harris, son of Moses, was b. Amenia 29 June 1780 or 1781 and d. 2 Dec. 1829, ae. 49-5-3, bur. Harrisena Cem. He m. 19 Feb. 1807 Clara (or Clarissa) Bates, b. Clarendon VT 15 (16 per Bible) Aug. 1784 to Rufus and Rebecca (Goffe) Bates (q.v.); Clara undoubtedly m. (2) Sandy Hill 16 June 1872 Ira Harris [see no. 20], both then of Kingsbury (Sandy Hill Herald). Clara d. after 1870. William B. Harris was listed in the 1805 assessment roll of Queensbury, but the name was crossed out. He appears in censuses of 1810 (10010/10010) and 1820 (110010/21010/00001). In 1830, Charles and Sally Harris of Hague quitclaimed 150 acres in Queensbury to Moses W., Ruth, Mary, Loiza D., Asa S., Grace and John Harris of Queensbury. Carrissa Harris appears in the 1830 census (011/0111101); Clarey Harris, in 1840 (01011/01001001). In 1850, Clara Harris (63) and Nathan Bates (60) were in household of her son John Harris. Clarry Harris was listed by herself in 1855, ae. 71, having lived 61 yrs. in Queensbury. She was called a widow, the mother of eight children, in 1865. Son-in-law Seneca Tubbs bought the William B. Harris farm in 1835 from Thomas Y. and Mary Hamilton of Queensbury (H/69), in 1843 from Claressa Harris, Asa and Prudentia Harris, Ephraim and Ruth Bunce, Grace Harris and John Harris, all of Queensbury (L/418), and in 1847 from Archibald and Grace Wing of Saratoga Co.
